But here’s the catch: Clarity doesn’t just happen. It’s not something you wake up with—it’s something you create.

And the first step? Knowing what you don’t want.Most people set goals by listing what they want.

📌 I want to make six figures.
📌 I want to land a leadership role.
📌 I want to work at a top company.

But here’s the problem: What if those aren’t your goals?

What if you’re chasing a version of success that looks good on paper but feels like a trap in real life?

That’s why I use The Anti-Vision Exercise.

Your anti-vision is the life you don’t want. It’s the version of success that looks impressive from the outside but feels empty on the inside. It’s the habits, environments, and commitments that drain your energy instead of fueling it.

Because eliminating what doesn’t fit makes space for what does.

3 Steps to Get Crystal Clear

Step 1: Define What You’re Running From

Close your eyes and picture your worst-case scenario. What does a life you don’t want look like?

📌 Maybe it’s working 60-hour weeks and missing time with family.
📌 Maybe it’s always reacting to other people’s needs instead of making time for your own growth.
📌 Maybe it’s staying in a job just because it’s “safe” instead of chasing something that excites you.

Write it all down. No filters. No guilt.

Step 2: Flip It Into Clarity

Now, go back to your list. For every “don’t”, flip it into a clear priority.

📌 I don’t want to work 60-hour weeks.“I want clear work-life boundaries that protect my time.”
📌 I don’t want to feel like I’m always reacting.“I want systems that make me proactive, not just putting out fires.”
📌 I don’t want to stay stuck in a career I don’t love.“I want to make bold, intentional career moves that align with my long-term vision.”

Step 3: Set Your Non-Negotiables

This is where things get serious. Now that you’ve cut the noise, it’s time to protect your priorities.

Pick 3 non-negotiables—the lines you will not cross, no matter what.

Example:
“I will not answer emails after 7 PM—because my personal life deserves the same level of commitment as my career.”
“I will not say yes to opportunities that don’t align with my long-term vision, no matter how ‘good’ they seem.”
“I will protect my mornings for deep work—because reacting to Slack messages all day is not a strategy.”

This isn’t just about avoiding burnout. It’s about designing a life that actually works for you.
